Caroline Lohr lives on a farm in Broadway, Virginia. She is nine years old and in the fourth grade at Lacey Spring Elementary School. She is a member of the Plains 4-H Club in Rockingham County, and this year she did a livestock project. Livestock are farm animals like horses, cows or sheep.

4-H is a club where young people learn leadership, citizenship and life skills. Each “H” stand for a word in the club’s pledge: I pledge my Head to clearer thinking, my Heart to greater loyalty, my Hands to larger service, and my Health to better living, for my club, my community, my country and my world.

Caroline’s project was to raise two lambs, take care of them, train them and show them at the Rockingham County Fair. At the end of the Fair, she sold her lambs and, hopefully, made enough money to buy more lambs next year.

Caroline raised two lambs, a female named Glinda after the good witch in “Wicked” and a male named Doo Dah. She chose that name because she it was funny.
