General Requirements
Cattle producers must attend a beef quality assurance program.
Cattle qualifying as VQA must be certified by a third party such as a veterinarian, extension agent, Virginia Cattlemen's Association personnel, etc. who has been trained as a certifier.
Vaccinations are to be given according to label directions, except the initial vaccines requiring booster may be given at any time after the calves are 4 months; thus extending the period between the initial and booster doses.
All required vaccinations must be given after the calves are 120 days old and at least 14 days before sale (booster if label requires i.e. "double vaccinated")
All vaccinations given in the neck area.
Processing map and verification form to accompany cattle.
Minimum weight of 400 pounds.
Heifers guaranteed open.
Steers castrated, healed and guaranteed against stags.
All calves dehorned and healed.
Owned by seller at least 60 days

Gold Tag - Health Program Assured
- Vaccinated for IBR, BVD, PI3, 7 strain clostridial, and Pasteurella (with Leukotoxiod) no earlier than 120 days old and at least 14 days before sale.
- Processing map and certification form to accompany cattle

Gold Tag W - Health Program Assured + Weaned
- Vaccinated for IBR, BVD, PI3, 7 strain clostridial, and Pasteurella (with Leukotoxiod) no earlier than 120 days old and at least 14 days before sale.
- Processing map and certification form to accompany cattle
- Calves weaned at least 30 days
- Feed and water trough broke

Purple Tag - Genetic and Health Program Assured
- Vaccinated for IBR, BVD, PI3, 7 strain clostridial, and Pasteurella (with Leukotoxiod) no earlier than 120 days old and at least 14 days before sale.

Breed of sire identified - Sire must meet minimum Yearling Weight EPD's
