EHV-1 UPDATE FOR MARCH 6, 2007

There is no change in the status of EHV-1 in Virginia. We have not had any additional positive horses or quarantines since last week. The State Vet has not cancelled public sales or auctions for this weekend, although he advises a common-sense approach and good bio-security practices (see the box called General Information at www.vdacs.virginia.gov/animals/ehv).
With no new positive cases, all quarantines could be lifted by the end of March.
