Contact: Elaine Lidholm, 804.786.7686

On March 20, 2009, Helena Chemical Company opened a new facility in Walkerton, Virginia.  The new facility is 30,000 square feet of warehouse space and approximately five acres of yard space for warehousing crop production materials like fertilizer and seeds.  Their capability also includes a portable seed treatment unit that can treat seeds on the farm.  Helena currently operates facilities in Franklin, Mount Crawford, Tasley and Winchester.  This new location now gives the company a presence in East Central Virginia.  According to Don Cline, Branch Manager, the company wanted a facility to reach the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck area with its strong agricultural base.  “This part of the state has a strong agricultural viability and vitality, and we want to provide local services for the farmers there now and in the future,” said Cline.Photo of Helena Chemical Company's ribbon cutting.
