REGULATORY SERVICES
Plant Pest Survey and Detection
Personnel in OPIS are constantly working to collect and manage data on plant pests of concern to Virginia. This includes insects, weeds, and plant diseases. Much of the work is conducted in cooperation with the USDA Animal Plant and Health Inspection Service. The Cooperative Agricultural Pest Survey (CAPS) Program provides national and regional coordination and funding.
