Description: Come visit Northern Virginia’s only indoor farmers’ market. Rain or shine, you can enjoy locally-grown and hand-made products. Take your time as you stroll through the stalls of a restored horse barn to find fresh vegetables, baked goods, flowers, eggs, beef, lamb and much more.
Directions: From D.C., take I-66 west to exit 31. Market is on the right at bottom of ramp. From Warrenton, take Route 17 north toward Marshall. Turn right onto Route 245 (Old Tavern Road). Market is approximately 3 miles up on the right.
Hours: 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Sundays, beginning the last Sunday of April until the second Sunday in November.
Activities: “County Fair Days” – Last Sunday of each month. Many extra hand-made products available. “Christmas on the Farm,” 10 a.m.-4 p.m., first two weekends in December. Fresh trees, wreaths, roping and hand-made gifts. Call for details on dates and times.

Special Comments: Join the Leonard family at their working dairy farm to visit the animals, walk through the corn (during maze season) and learn about modern farming techniques. They will be glad to show you how they take care of their 300 cows that produce the milk in your fridge. Just about an hour from Northern Virginia, you can be riding a hay wagon around the farm and learning first-hand about cow life from baby calves to the adult dairy cows that are producing nature’s most nearly perfect food. Through field trips, weekend visits and special events, meet a cow, share an ice cream cone and just enjoy a day on the farm! Directions: From Northern Virginia area, take I-66 west to Markham, exit 18. Turn right on Route 688, then immediately make left onto Belle Meade Lane. Orchard is ¼ mile on right.

Special Comments: Driveway to orchard takes you through cow fields, hay fields, the main house built in 1775, past 10 other barns and out buildings up to the top of the orchards where there is a 360-degree view of the valley to enjoy while you pick fruit and picnic. Special Comments: Our 100% certified organic, free range Angus beef is raised on over 600 acres of rolling woods and grass-and-clover pasture. Our cattle are never confined, roaming on 3+ acres of land per head, and can be either grass-fed or finished on free-choice organic grains. Our farm is ecologically friendly, sustainable, and local, which decreases our dependence on fossil fuels. All of our hay is grown right here and is 100% organic.
