Directions: From Danville, take 58 west, 20 miles to Axton Fire Department. make a right on Route 647 (Mountain Valley Road) and go 2.9 miles. Make a left on Tommy Carter Road. First driveway on the left. From Martinsville, take 58 east, 9 miles to Axton Fire Department. Make a left on Route 647 (Mountain Valley Road) and go 2.9 miles. Turn left on Tommy Carter Road. First driveway on the left. From Chatham, take 57 west approximately 25 miles and turn left on Route 647 IMountain Valley road). Go 7 miles and turn right on Tommy Carter Road. First driveway on the left.
Hours: 10 a.m.-6 p.m., daily by appointment, year round.
Special Comments: Mada Vemi Alpacas is a working alpaca farm that shears its fiber once a year and processes it into handmade gifts. The fiber studio is open by appointment to watch fiber demonstrations, sign up for a fiber arts class or purchase unique handmade alpaca products. Our alpacas are raised in Virginia, sheared in Virginia and our fiber products are made in Virginia. National Alpaca Farm Days - 10 a.m.-4 p.m., September 26-27. The farm is open to the public both days to visit with the alpacas, learn about their fiber, watch fiber arts demonstrations and shope in the fiber arts studio for unique handmade alpaca gifts. We offer open farm days several times a year and set up at the Danville Farmers Market during the season.
