Special Comments: A Virginia Century Farm, growing apples since the 1830s. Offering 15 varieties of apples, cider, apple butter, honey, pumpkins, sweet potatoes from August to November. A Land Grant Farm owned/operated by the Dickie Family members since 1750.

Directions: From Charlottesville, south on U.S. 29 approximately 30 miles. Turn right on Drumheller Orchard Lane. Orchard located 1 mile behind Nelson County High School. From Lynchburg, north on U.S. 29 approximately 30 miles. Turn left on Drumheller Orchard Lane.
Hours: 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday-Sunday, July 15-August 20; 9 a.m.-5 p.m., daily, September 9-December 19, 2009. Closed Thanksgiving Friday, Saturday and all Sundays following.
Special Comments: Family farm in operation since 1937 by four generations. Apple Festivals – September 26 & 27 (9 a.m.-5 p.m.) and October 17 & 18, 2009 (9 a.m.-5 p.m.). Apple butter making festival Saturdays only. Large selection of apples, hayrides to pumpkin patch, corn maze, apple sling shot, free cider samples, country music and activities for children. No admission fee.
Products: Fresh-picked peaches July 15 - August 20. Call ahead for varieties and ripening dates. Select-your-own apples September 9-December 19 - Albemarle Pippin, Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, York, Stayman, Winesap, Rome, Granny Smith, Fuji and Gala. Directions: From I-64, exit 99, turn right off of exit on Route 250 east. Go 3 miles (approximately) and turn right on 151 south towards Wintergreen Ski Resort. Go 10 miles, turn left on Virginia Lane (there will be a winery sign). Cross bridge over the Rockfish River. Farm on left at top of hill.
Hours: 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Wednesday–Saturday; 1-5 p.m. Sunday. Hours extended in July and August for blackberry season.
Special Comments: Hill Top Berry Farm & Winery is a sister-owned winery specializing in “True to the Fruit” Virginia wines, historical honey meads and seasonal pick-your-own blackberries. We have daily wine tastings, picnic area, meeting facility and gift shop with beautiful view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Blackberry Harvest Festival - August 1, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. - Wine tasting, craft vendors, pick-your-own blackberries, pig pickin’, live music (City Limits Band). Products: Fresh-picked premium quality, tree-ripened peaches available June 20-September 30. Yellow-fleshed include Sentry, Redhaven, Loring, Salem, Blake, Mr. Carson, Encore, Fairtime and Laurol. White-fleshed peach varieties include White Lady, Sugar Giant, Snow Giant, September Snow and Snowball, among others. We also grow nectarines and Asian pears. We carry an exceptional selection of jams, jellies and cider, including but not limited to, peach cider, peach and bean salsa, F.R.O.G.
