Directions:  Afton, Virginia.  From the west, take I-64 east to exit 99 (Route 250 east).  From the east, take I-64 west to exit 107 (Route 250 west).  From either exit, follow sign to Wintergreen off Route 250 onto Route 151.  The farm is located 0.8 mile on the right, south of the intersection of 151 and 250, 20-25 minutes west of Charlottesville, 10 minutes east of Waynesboro, 1 hour north of Lynchburg.
Hours:  9 a.m.-6 p.m., Tuesday-Saturday, March 1-December 24;  11 a.m.-4 p.m., Thursday-Sunday, January and February.
Special Comments:  Call about fall hayrides and pumpkin picking.
Products:  Pick-your-own vegetables and raspberries (organically grown); fresh-picked vegetables, raspberries and herbs; select-your-own on-farm and local produce.  Pumpkin picking with hayrides in fall.  Full line of perennials, annuals, trees and shrubs are available.  Christmas items are available in December.

Directions:  From I-64 in Charlottesville, take exit 121 (Route 20 south).  Go ½ mile; make left on Route 53, Go ¾ mile, see Carter Mountain sign on right.  Next to Michie Tavern and Monticello.
Hours:  9 a.m.-6 p.m., daily, beginning mid-June-October 31; 9 a.m.-5 p.m., daily until Thanksgiving.
Special Comments:  Located ½ mile from Monticello, Michie Tavern and Ash Lawn.  Spectacular 40-mile view of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Piedmont.  Observation decks and picnic tables are available.  School tours welcome by appointment.  Hayrides on weekends in October.  On-premises bakery; Apple Harvest Festival, 1st and 2nd weekends in October - live music, crafts, and food.  Senior Citizen Discount every Tuesday. 
Products:  Open in June – pick-your-own peaches and nectarines in July and August.  Pick-your-own Gala and Ginger Gold apples approximately August 15.  Starting September 1, Golden Delicious.  Starting September 7, Red Delicious.  Starting October 1, Fuji, Winesap, Stayman, York, Granny Smith, and Crispin.  Starting October 20, Pink Lady.  Best to call ahead or check Web site for exact dates.  Fresh cider and apple butter available.  Pumpkins available late September through November.  Baking and serving fresh apple cider donuts, apple pie, cookies, ice cream and more.  Country store with local crafts, gourmet food products, jams, honey, and more.

Directions:  From I-64, take exit 107.  Go west on Route 250 for 1.3 miles.  Right on Route 690.  Go 1 mile, right on Route 691.  Go 1 mile, market is on the right.
Hours:  9 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday-Saturday; 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday.  Open early May through Thanksgiving. 
Special Comments:  Visit our newly expanded farm market.  Call ahead or check our Web site for ripening dates.  Ice cream parlor, baked goods, deck with picnic tables and gorgeous mountain views. 
Products:  Pick-your-own and fresh-picked strawberries starting mid-May.  Pick-your-own and fresh-picked sweet cherries starting approximately June 1.  Pick-your-own and fresh-picked peaches and nectarines, approximately July 1.  Pick-your-own and fresh-picked pumpkins begin late September.  Fresh local vegetables in season.  Ice cream parlor is open all season.  Farm market with ciders, apple butter, jams, honey, and local crafts.

Description:  Outdoor market in the foothills of the Blue Ridge offering locally-grown food and flowers and locally-crafted goods.  A gardening Help Desk operated biweekly by the Piedmont Master Gardeners Association. New vendors and backyard gardeners always welcome. Annual lavender wand workshop in spring and apple cider pressing in fall.
Directions:  Approximately 13 miles west of Charlottesville. From Charlottesville, take 250 west past Ivy Corner to Y, at railroad trestle.  Veer right on Route 240 west following signs to Crozet.  Continue past Star Hill Brewery, to T junction in Crozet (at Dairy Queen).  Left on Crozet Avenue for 0.10 mile to market in Crozet United Methodist Church gravel lot. From I-64, take exit 107, 250 west to third light; left on Route 240.  Market is before railroad bridge.
Hours:  8 a.m.-Noon, Saturdays, May through October.

Description:  Historic Scottsville on the James Market serves the tri-county area with locally-grown fresh produce, plants, cut flowers, delicious baked goods, canned goods, eggs, and meats.  Vendors also offer local handmade crafts.
Directions:  From Charlottesville, take Route 20 south to Scottsville, turn right onto West Main Street, and turn left onto Harrison Street to park.  From Farmville, take route 15, north to Route 20 north in Dillwyn, take Route 20 north to Scottsville, turn left onto West Main Street, turn left on to Harrison Street to park.
Hours:  3-7 p.m., Thursdays, early April through October.  Holiday Markets:  TBA
Activities:  Picnic area available at the market, a great place for fun and fellowship, a social outing to meet your neighbors, and a family night out.  Special events are planned.
