9th Grader Wins Eat Local for a Day Contest
Gavin Erskine, a 9th grader from Charlottesville, Virginia won the VDACS Eat Local for a Day video contest. Gavin and his family surveyed a wide variety of delicious Virginia products on his video titled From Our State to Your Plate. According to Gavin, anything you want to eat, you can find in Virginia. To prove his point he showed everything from granola and eggs for breakfast, ham, cheese and breads for lunch, pasta, sauces and vegetables galore for dinner plus peanuts, chips, salsa and ice cream for snacks.
