Dairy and Eggs

Milk is Virginia’s third largest agricultural commodity, while eggs rank as the Commonwealth’s 13th top commodity.   Virginia dairy farms produced more than one billion pounds of milk, according to the 2008 National Agricultural Statistics Service.  The Virginia Poultry Federation reports Virginia farmers produced nearly 800,000,000 eggs in 2007.
