Broilers, cattle and calves, turkeys and hogs are among Virginia’s top commodities.  Broilers (chickens) are ranked as Virginia’s number one agricultural commodity, generating nearly $560,000,000 in cash receipts.  Cattle and calves represent Virginia’s second leading commodity in the Commonwealth and are responsible for nearly $430,000,000 in cash receipts.  Turkeys are ranked fourth and hogs are ranked ninth among Virginia’s top twenty commodities.
