Description:  The Newport News Farmers’ Market offers a bountiful array of locally-grown produce, seafood, plants, cut flowers and homemade crafts for all seasons.  The open-air market offers family entertainment monthly throughout the summer and fall. 
Directions:  From Hampton/Newport News, take I-64 to exit 264 (I-664 south) to exit 6 (26th and 27th Streets).  Follow the signs for 27th Street.  Turn left onto Jefferson Avenue and look for the Market on the left (corner of Jefferson Avenue and 29th Street).  From Suffolk/Chesapeake, proceed north on I-664 through the Monitor-Merrimac Bridge Tunnel.  Take exit 6 and follow the directions to 25th Street.  Turn left onto Jefferson Avenue.  The Market is on your left, two blocks away (corner of Jefferson Avenue and 29th Street).
Hours:  10 a.m.-6 p.m., Friday and 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday during summer and fall.  Winter hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Friday and Saturday.
Activities:  The Market will host monthly special events with live entertainment.  Special events include:  June 14-Children’s Clothing & Toy Show; July 19-International Day; August 9-Treasure Chest Bazaar; September 20-Music Festival; and  October 18-Harvest Festival.   Please visit www.nnparks.com/parks_farmersmarket.php or call the Market at 757.247.2351 for detailed schedule of events.
