Animal Disease Traceability
Interstate movement requirements for equines have not changed under the new federal Animal Disease Traceability Rule. In general, some form of individual identification and a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection are required, but equine owners are advised to check specific entry requirements for the state of destination before transporting animals across state lines. More specific information on federal requirements can be found in the USDA factsheet referenced below.
