The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) partners with cities, counties and regional organizations throughout the Commonwealth on a variety of programs and initiatives. VDACS encourages localities to explore these resources.
Promotes economic development within Virginia‘s agriculture sector and administers the Governor’s Agriculture and Forestry Industries Development Fund (AFID) grants.
Library of VDACS databases such as the Dangerous Dog Registry and Animal Custody Record Reports.
Information on farmland preservation resources such as purchase of development rights (PDR) programs.
Recognizes and honors those farms that have been in operation for at least 100 consecutive years.
